The Siberian or Amur Tiger's mind map

Summary : The life of Siberian Tigers

Summary

For project design 2, I choose Siberian Tiger or also known as Amur Tiger as my subject matter for my VR application. The main reason I chose Siberian Tiger is because of Siberian Tiger are one of the most endangered animal species in the world. Besides that, Siberian Tiger has many interesting facts about their cycle of life. So, this species would be perfect and suitable for education purpose in teaching the young about how important it is to save this endangered animal from being extinct.

For this edutainment game, I will divide the part into 2 levels. The first level will be built for teaching and showing the users/players the life cycle of the Siberian Tiger. On the first level, the users can roam around the environment and for every part that they go, the users can either read information that the game provided or the users can see how this endangered animal lives. The environment of the first level will be divided into a few parts which consists of the tiger's habitat, the breeding environment, and the food hunting . There will be only a few interaction in the first level as my Idea for the first level is to focus mainly on giving information about the Siberian Tiger's life. And for the second level, this is where will the most interaction takes place by. On the second level, I planned on creating a simple adventure for the users/players. The adventure is about finding the Siberian Tiger using the traces that the tiger left. For every traces that the users found, it will contain clues on the tiger's whereabout. The adventure also is based on the information that the user/players get and learned from the first level. So, the conclusion is, the users can learn about the endangered species and have fun at the same time when they're playing the application.

A VIRTUAL WALKTHROUGH

The Siberian Tiger facts
- Siberian (or Amur) tigers are the world's largest cats.
- Found in the higher mountain areas where they are far away from humans.

Their Habitat
- Unlike the other tiger subspecies, which are jungle-dwellers, the Siberian tiger lives in the birch forests of Russia’s frigid and snowy Far East, and formerly inhabited the colder regions.
- The Siberian tiger occupies a very large territory and the tiger may occupy the same territory for a long time if food sources are stable within the area. If the prey is no longer enough for the tigers, it often migrates hundred of miles to find a new place to live.
- The male tiger is solitary, shunning other males. He allows tigers of either sex to pass through his range but is more tolerant of females. The female is sometimes accompanied by her cubs.

Their Breedings
- Both males and females mark the boundaries of their ranges with urine and by scratching trees. For female, this usually shows the female she is ready to mate.
- Female Amur tigers' pregnancy or gestation periods last approximately 3 - 3.5 months.
- At the time of birth, they will usually have litters of 3 or 4 cubs.

The Food Hunting
- preys mainly on deer and wild pig, but it also eats fish.
- The Siberian tiger spends a lot of time hunting because only about one in ten of its hunting trips is successful.
- When it does kill its prey, the tiger drags it to cover, usually near water. It then eats its fill, covers up the remains, and goes to sleep. Later it eats the rest of the carcass.

ADVENTURE GAME

- The users/players will have an adventure of finding the Siberian Tigers.
- There will be many game interactions for the users.
- Clues will be provided to help the users complete the adventure.
- By the end of the adventure, the users will be rewarded with the title " Hero " for finding the Siberian Tiger and with the findings, the animal can be saved from being extinct.

Most common question about the Siberian Tiger.

What is the difference between the Siberian Tiger and the White Siberian Tiger?

The answer is ;
"The White Tiger is a tiger with a genetic condition effecting its color. If one of its ancestors had the condition, it is very possible it skipped a generation or two before coming in contact with another tiger."
